| Description: | NURSERY MANAGER (Kansas City Suburb) HERMES NURSERY is seeking a candidate with experience in managing a field grown B&B tree operation along with a wholesale landscape distribution center (LDC). The ideal candidate has a solid agriculture, horticulture, farming, or landscaping background. You will oversee and direct daily operations as a profit center. The position has total profit making responsibility for operations with sales revenue. You work in conjunction with sales and marketing departments to generate revenue. Candidate will provide direction and leadership to ensure effective management of operations with the farm, facility, equipment, LDC, IPM and irrigation. Ensures complete customer satisfaction and long-term sustainable growth. You will oversee purchase and pricing approvals and inventory planning, as well as collections. Candidate must be knowledgeable of government relations and cultural practices in the industry. Additional skill sets: • The ability to analyze and manage material, equipment, labor cost and contracts. • Implement efficiencies in business and best practices. • Experience in staff, budget and vendor management. • The ability to plan ahead and follow through with all operations. • Proficient in developing employees. Position Requirements: • Bachelor’s degree in agribusiness, horticulture or related field. • Minimum five years management and supervisory experience in related field. • Basic knowledge of computer applications, accounting knowledge and profit orientation. • Basic knowledge of green industry trends and practices.
