Description:
This position is responsible for initiating the customer service cycle with walk-in customers and maintains a clean, well merchandised and stocked warehouse floor. Must have basic product knowledge in irrigation, drainage, lighting and turf products.
Essential Duties:
•Initiating the customer service process including customer check-in, credit check, scanner and other customer service duties.
•Providing fundamental product information to customers including pricing and availability.
•Verifying materials against receiving documents, report discrepancies and obvious damage.
•Increasing customer awareness of our company through the use of marketing and promotional tools, self service products and site merchandising efforts.
•Implement warehouse merchandising plan and keeping products well stocked.
•Manage customer product pick-up orders and complete all related paperwork.
Skills & Qualifications:
•2-4 years experience of irrigation, lighting and hardscape products, preferably with installation and design.
•Excellent communication skills.
•Excellent team skills.
•High customer service orientation.
•Ability to work overtime as the season requires.
•Ability to perform heavy manual tasks under varying weather conditions.
•Ability to work in adverse weather conditions; both heat and cold.
•Must be physically able to lift up to 75 pounds without assistance routinely throughout the course of the work day.
•Must demonstrate a thorough understanding of the body mechanics associated with safe lifting techniques and knowledge of principles of strain & sprain prevention.
•Perform functions of position standing approximately 95% of day.
•Perform other duties as necessary.
•High School diploma or GED.
•Bilingual ability (English/Spanish) is a plus.
•Experience in the landscape industry or a retail/wholesale environment is a strong plus.
