| Description: | Job Title: Irrigation Estimator and Designer Department: Irrigation Division Reports To: Irrigation General Manager Job Summary: Performs a wide variety of duties including, but not limited to, the design of all drawings for irrigation, drainage and lighting as required. Prepare all submittals and initial documents as needed per specs on a per job basis. Work up all budget numbers and estimates using the format and pricing provided by the Irrigation General Manager. Maintain current as-built drawings according to red lines provided by Project Managers. Attend all jobsite meetings necessary to perform all duties and assist department with onsite changes and changes to scope. Provide all close out documents per specs on a per job basis. Assist Irrigation General Manager with all aspects of all irrigation projects. Duties and Responsibilities: • Design all Irrigation shop drawings • Set-up/maintain Bidder website currently used by Sales & Marketing • Set-up/maintain auto E-mail alerts for new irrigation and drainage solicitations • Update/maintain as-built’s for all projects in auto cad • Attend all Sales & Marketing meetings • Perform all sales, marketing, bidding, proposals, and change orders for all Commercial jobs • Build relationship with all current and future customers, as well as, all local municipalities (MD,VA DE and Washington, DC) • Responsible for all aspects of sales & marketing strategy and procedures • Perform site visits before, during, and after work is completed • Interaction/support throughout each project with all Departments involved. • Identify areas where “cost savings” measures can be identified • Administer quality control measures in field with Project Managers. • Assist/communicate effectively with Office Manager • Performs other related duties as necessary and/or direct by management Skills and Educational Requirements: Employee must have the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing to perform duties. Employee must have a working knowledge of the Landscaping and Irrigation industry. Must have strong organizational skills and the ability to analyze and solve problems. Graduate of a 2/4-year college with a minimum of 2 years experience in the Irrigation and Landscaping industry or any other related field. Employee must be a self-starter, with a strong work ethic as well as a team player. Inner Relationships: Contact with all levels of personnel within the company and with commercial, homebuilder and residential homeowner clientele. Vendor contacts will also be required. Working Conditions: The Irrigation Estimator & Designer position is a salaried position. Employee will be required to work some weekends depending on workload, scheduling and special company events or promotions. Needed Attributes: Verbal ability, ability to work under pressure, ability to prioritize and organize scheduled projects. Ability to minimize cost and maximize profits as it relates to pricing and design of irrigation work. Employee must be flexible to perform a variety of tasks under time performance pressure, often changing assignments on short notice. |
